Tidetool

Tide Tool 2.3 is a tide‑ and current‑prediction program for PalmOS handhelds, using data derived from XTide and regional databases included with the software. It requires installing the main application file, a tide‑algorithm database (“TideArgs.pdb”), and one or more regional tide‑data files.

The program displays daily tides, currents, sunrise/sunset, and moon phases, with both tabular and graphical views. Users can tap the graph to obtain predictions for specific times, and navigate dates with scroll buttons or the calendar.

Locations are selected from large regional databases, which can be enabled or disabled to save memory; the list is sorted by distance from the last viewed point. Tide Tool supports both reference stations and “offset locations,” which apply fixed corrections to nearby stations.
