What is IrBT ?

IrBT is usefull to redirect all which is emitted or received via infrared to another serial device, the principal usage is to redirect infra red (IrComm) to the BlueTooth driver.

For example, there are a lot of tools to do various things with a palm and a gsm cellular phone, most known is GSMTool, unfortunately these marvellous tools were builded prior to BT suuport in palm, and developpement is discontinued. IrBT allow to use GSMTool in BlueTooth :-)

How does it works ?

Very simple :-) All communications are using a virtual serial driver, IrBT intercept the api opening the port and instead opens another one, the palm is faked !

Caution:

You should not use IrBT if you don't understand all what I'm talking about. IrBT is provided "as is" without any warranty, don't forget to backup. I have sucessfully used IrBT on various PalmV with BlueV and Palm M515 with the BlueTooth SDio card, with various Ericsson (T39, T29 with DBA10) and Nokia (6310i) phones, so I'm sure it's working ! But if you don't succeed with your equipments, give away because if you want me to provide any support you'll have to send me your devices !

Don't forget to deactivate IrBT if you want to use true infra red. In case of trouble, reset. IrBT is deactivated after a reset.
