EONW calculates the acute effects of nuclear weapons on human beings. The user sets the bomb yield, the blast height, and the "victims" distance from ground zero.

EONW then calculates and displays the initial radiation dose, the thermal dose, and the overpressure.

Additionally, based on the calculated effects, the chance of death is estimated. "Fun" facts about some significant US nuclear tests can also be displayed.
