Ohisama Hitotsu (お日さんひとつ, roughly “One Little Sun”) is a compact weather viewer for classic Palm OS handhelds. It keeps forecast data on the Palm, so checking the weather is instant and does not require a network connection on the handheld.

The main weekly view shows current conditions and a seven-day forecast. Each day includes high and low temperatures, precipitation probability and humidity. The detailed time view lays out six four-hour periods in columns, with weather, temperature, precipitation probability, humidity and wind speed. A stylized Japan map summarizes forecasts for 11 cities across the country.

Two otherwise identical Palm builds are provided. The JP build uses the launcher name お日さん; the EN build uses Ohisama.

The Palm application itself stays offline. The optional, self-contained OhisamaUpdater for 64-bit Windows retrieves and validates fresh forecast data from Open-Meteo, then queues it for the selected Palm Desktop users. It can run at Windows logon and every four hours. The next ordinary HotSync transfers the forecast database to the Palm. Multiple Palm Desktop users can be selected.

The Windows updater is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may ask for confirmation. Python is not required for the packaged updater.

Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo.com under CC BY 4.0, with processing for the Palm display.

Install one PRC, then HotSync. To keep forecasts fresh, unpack the Windows x64 package, run OhisamaUpdater.exe, select one or more Palm Desktop users and enable automatic updates. HotSync remains the final transfer step.
