got help? is an system enhancement that will allow applications built for the Palm Computing Platform to show off fancy help by providing a simple to use HTML style renderer allowing change of font, color, the use of images and most importantly the ability to hyperlink to other help pages.
Many applications take use of the FrmHelp() API to display help screens to their users. The standard implementation on the Palm Computing Platform provides a modal dialog containing a noneditable text area (which could only be one font). Some developers have gone to the extreme of writing their own custom help engines, however no consistancy exists within the platform and writing such help systems is complex.
got help? has been designed to make the integration easy. Developers can either introduce new resources which replace the default help strings with HTML based strings, or also allow the user to generate help databases, which will override the default help strings stored in the applications.
