8MB Flash Updater V1.1

The 8MB Flash Updater is used to update the File Mover and other System Software contained on the 
Handspring 8MB Flash Module.  This update will NOT affect user data stored on the module.  Only system 
information will be modified.

This update is for 8MB Flash Modules with V1.0 software only.

Update Instructions
-------------------

1.	Double-click the 8MBUpdate.prc file on your desktop computer to launch the Palm Install Tool.
	This will cause the next HotSync to copy the updater to your handheld.
2.	Perform a HotSync operation with your handheld.
3.	Insert the 8MB Flash module into the handheld if it is not already installed.
4.	Tap the 8MBUpdate application in the Launcher.  The updater will launch.
5.	Tap the "Update Now" button.  Wait for the updater to finish the first step.
6.	Tap "Reset."  The handheld will reset and the final step of the update process will begin.
	It is important to wait until this final step has completed before you remove the 8MB 
	Flash module from the handheld or damage to data on the module may result.

Your 8MB Flash module has now been updated to V1.1.  To verify, tap the 8MBUpdate application 
again in the Launcher.  It will display the software version on the Module.  Once you have updated 
your Module, you may delete the 8MBUpdate application from the handheld.

Note: if you are updating in response to Fatal Errors when attempting to view the contents
of the module from the File Mover, there is an additional step to perform.  After the update, tap 
the File Mover in the Launcher and select Format Module from the Option menu.  This will solve the
Fatal Error problem but erase the corrupted contents of the module.  You will need to re-install any 
applications and data you had previously stored on the module.
