Introduction :

Air Hockey 3D is based on the fast paced game played in Arcades
and Game Rooms around the world.
With the simple aim being to wack the floating puck into the oponents
goal by using your Bat.
The game itself has an added twist of a Block Break game,
Loosely based on the classic Breakout game.

How to play the game :

Within the game 4 Game modes are available,
Each one is selected by clicking the appropriate one on the title page
And then clicking the 'Start' Button to play.
Each one of these modes is detailed fully below.

One Player game :-

In this mode you play Air hockey against the computer,
When you first select 'Start' from the title page you can select
the required difficulty level of the Computer.
These range from 1 which is easy to 12 which is hard.
You may start the game from any difficulty level which you have
previously beaten the computer at.
To win simply hit the puck into the top computers goal the required
number of times, This is 5 by default but can be altered from
the options page.

Two Player game :-

This unique mode allows 2 players to play Air Hockey against
each other on the same Organizer.
Each player uses 2 of the Organizers keys to move their
bats left and right.
These keys are Date book/Address book for Player 1,
And Todo/Memo pad for Player 2.
When each bout is about to start each player will be shown
which bat they are controlling by some dotted lines.
Also to make the game fairer the current losing player will
always be shown at the front of the screen where it is
easier to play, If necessary the software will spin the table around
automatically to make this so.
Every time a player hits the puck the other players bat will move
slightly closer to the middle of the board, This makes the game
progressively harder/quicker the longer the game continues.
It's a bit of a squeeze to fit both players fingers on the
appropriate keys for the game, But the game is a lot of fun to
play anyway.
Also the speed of the 2 player game can be adjusted from the
options page.

Block Break game :-

This game is loosely based on the classic Breakout game.
In the game you must move your bat left and right to bounce the
puck into the blocks on the table, This will break the blocks
and make them disappear.
When you have broken all the blocks on the table hit the
puck into the top goal to complete the level.
Don't let the puck hit the bottom edge of the table though as you
will lose a life, You start each game with 3 lives and
your current lives left are shown on the score board to the
right.
On the left side of the score board is shown the current number
of bricks left to break on the level.
In total the game has 12 levels. You can start the game from
any previously completed level from the initial level selection
popup.
During the Block Break game the puck will increase it's speed
every time it hits something, So make every hit count.
Also as the levels get harder the initial speed of the puck
will increase.

*New* Block Break Editor.
Available from the main menu on the title page is a Block Break Editor.
This feature allows you to design lots of your own levels to play
within the Block Break game mode.
Full details of how to do this are available from within the
designer itself by clicking on the 'I' icon.

Two Player Infrared game :-

This mode allows you to play a game of Air Hockey against another
player who also has the game installed on their Organizer.
To start this game simply point both Organizers at one another
and on one Organizer select the 2 Player IR game mode and click
the 'Start' button.
Both organizers will then start playing the game.
The player who starts the game will have control of how many
goals are needed to win.
The actual gameplay is the same as the 1 player mode except you
are playing against the other player rather than the computer.
Note. Due to the speed of the infrared communications this game
mode may run slower than the other modes available.

Controlling your Bat

You can control your bat on both the one player games, By using
your stylus.
Move your stylus around on either the main organizer screen or
just the graffiti pad and your bat will move accordingly.
If you prefer though you can also use the hardware keys to move.
These can be reconfigured as required from the options page
available from the main menu.
On the two player game you need to move the bat's using the
keys which are shown before the start of each game.

Best Goal Times table :-

For the one player games a best goal times table is kept,
This contains players who score the fastest goals for
each level against the computer.
If you win against the computer and score the goals in
a fast enough time you will be asked for your name,
This is then displayed on the table which can be accessed
by clicking on the option from the main menu.

Best Block Breakers table :-

Within the game a table is kept containing the best
5 scores for the Block Break games.
To appear on this table simply break a lot of blocks.
The table can be accessed by clicking on it's option
from the main menu
