Autopond -- Frequently asked questions Hey! All of my goal cards disappeared! This is a bug dating back to the earlier versions of Autopond. To fix the problem, install and run the latest version (1.0.6). Why doesn't Autopond keep track of what cards other players have? Because it can't; the cards that other people have will change after you meet them. Goal cards never change, so those are what Autopond keeps track of. How do you spell "Autopond?" Is the "p" capitalized? You spell it "Autopond." The "p" is not capitalized. What do the cards mean? What do they represent? The cards have meaning to them; figuring that out is part of the fun. Some cards will appear more often than others. On the Trade screen, why does it sometimes check cards for me automatically? Those are your goal cards, held by the other player. How is the score calculated? 250 points for each goal card you have. 1 point for each person you know. Then, 10 points for every person you know of who has one of your cards as their goal. So, if 5 people out there want "adobe," and you have adobe, that's 50 points. Is there a shareware fee for Autopond? How do you make money? Autopond is freeware. There is no shareware fee. You can copy it as much as you want. I wrote Autopond as an entry for the PalmSource 2000 Developer's Challenge. I won, so hey, I'm all set for cash as far as Autopond goes. I heard Autopond is a "viral" app. Can Autopond spread viruses? No more than any other app can spread them. Some people have referred to Autopond as a "viral app;" by that, they mean that Autopond is designed to encourage users to voluntarily spread Autopond to other users. But Autopond contains no harmful code (that I know of). The "meet" command does not exchange executable code; only data. It is not an avenue for virus infection. Hey, do you know about this way to cheat? First, buy another Palm... Actually, that isn't cheating. All the rules of this game are hard-coded into the app itself. The only way to cheat is to hack the code.
